Draper–IFA Country Stores will host a grand opening celebration August 17-18, for its new 18,000 square-foot store conveniently located at 1027 E Pioneer Road, Draper, Utah. Customers will not need to go far from the original Draper store that was located at 1071 E Pioneer Road, as the new store has moved next door to IFA’s former distribution center next door. The grand opening event will feature drawings for several prizes including a Camp Chef SmokePro Grill; plus enjoy live, outdoor cooking demos throughout the day on Friday and Saturday.
“The Draper location has seen a lot of change in its nearly 100-year history,” said Jeff Meek, Draper store manager, IFA Country Store. “The building has outlasted almost every other building in the area. It will remain, but we’ve moved only a few yards away to better accommodate our customers. The new, but familiar, location has more product lines in almost every department, so we’re excited to welcome our customers and let the legacy continue.”
Mr. Meek, who’s been with IFA for 17 years, reported the Draper location started out in the poultry business where Milk-white eggs were checked and shipped across the country, beginning the craze for white eggs over brown eggs. In the 1960s, the “Utah Poultry & Farmers Cooperative” changed to “Intermountain Farmers Association” or IFA, as it’s known today. Meek also stated the store has gone through another change from carrying more farming equipment to introducing more pet care and gardening product lines to cater to everyday people wanting to care for everyday things. The new store will feature IFA’s signature service with trained experts ready to serve customers throughout the store and available to help carry out purchases from the checkout counter to the car.
IFA is known for hiring and training its team members to be experts in a range of areas including lawn and garden, beekeeping, livestock, farm and ranch supplies, animal feed, outdoor cooking and more. IFA currently operates 23 Country Stores in Utah, Colorado, Nevada, Idaho and New Mexico.
Intermountain Farmers Association was established in 1923, in Gunnison, Utah to provide services to the agricultural community, and has grown to offer a large array of products and expertise to not only help farmers and ranchers, but home owners, gardening enthusiasts and animal lovers, to grow the things they love.
