SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Police are searching for two people after a wrong-way crash on westbound SR- 201 early Thursday morning.

Police say a car was driving the wrong way with no lights on and it hit another car head-on at 3600 West.

Investigators said some of the people involved in this crash may also be linked to a drive-by shooting in Salt Lake City.

Officers responded to the drive-by shooting first near 700 S. and 800 W. around midnight; no one was hurt in that.

Shortly after, police say they found a car that matched the one from the shooting.

Officers tried to pull over the car and the driver sped off.

A few minutes later, the Salt Lake County Metro Gang Unit tried to stop the car.

The car tried to get away, driving the wrong way on westbound SR-201.

Salt Lake City Police Lieutenant Scott Smalley said the wrong-way driver crashed into an oncoming car.

Police don’t have a description of the two people who allegedly ran from the scene of the crash.

Two other women also in the shooting suspect’s car went to the hospital with minor injuries.

The victim in the other car went to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police are talking to the two female suspects to see if they can lead them to the suspects.
