Jose Lopez, Puerto Rico Farm Bureau’s director of program development, appeared on an RFD-TV Market Day Report to discuss how the U.S. island territory is recovering almost a year after Hurricane Maria’s devastating blow. Lopez said Puerto Rican farmers are working hard to get back on track, with recovery expected to take years. But there is hope.
“Puerto Rico is a land of opportunities in the ag sector,” Lopez said. “We can produce anything and everything 365 days a year…and Puerto Rico has a great opportunity to supply products to the United States.” Watch the clip.
